Last time I was in Florida, I went shark diving and ended up right in the middle of a swarm (or is it school?) of those little guys, not fun.

God has been telling humans for millenia that he doesn't want us in Australia. He's hit us with sharks, snakes, crocs, spiders, poisonous jellyfish, plagues of locusts, droughts, floods, and a fricking tree that has to have forest fire to survive. And we keep on coming back. Poor bastard must be tearing his hair out.
So take comfort in the fact that you've just raised a middle finger to the big guy.

Well Florida is basically the Australia of America. If Florida and Georgia combined, it would be Australia. All Florida needs is that penal colony.

that was actually the worse part about it. Everyone within earshot was all "I'll piss on it for ya"
But no. I did not get someone to urinate on me.

Its even funnier when we knew that there were jellyfish in the water. Meh, these ones aren't lethal right? Water ain't gonna swim itself
If they aren't boxes or blues your fine.
Also the kilo or so of mussels we picked made up for it.

I've been stung by jellies before. All up my right leg, made lots of little purple dots. The really sinister thing about it, though, is that it didn't hurt at all when I got hit. No, sir, instead it decided it would just ache like fucking mad the next day. And it was not like a muscle ache. It was more like I had a dozen or so forks trying to stab into me, but not willing to commit to puncturing the skin.

yikes, different type of jelly? It got me just above my left hip, just above the belt line of my boardies. I had an instant burning sensation which made me flinch and jump. It formed into an almost welt, the skin swelled up a few mm and then it stung for the rest of the day. The area is just a little bruised and tender today. The sunburn hurts noticeably worse.
I was lucky enough to avoid getting one square in the face when I was snorkelling over some rocks and not paying attention, I actually think my long hair protected me there.
But then it somehow snuck up on me when I was floating in waste deep clear water

Yeah, some type of mid-Atlantic jelly. The pain I felt also had the unfortunate side-effect of also being a subcutaneous type of itchy. It's a trap! Don't touch it!
What you got sounds more akin to a bee sting than what I got. Honestly, that's preferable because it's it's more or less a one-and-done thing that's not so hard to blot out.

Our local jellyfish aren't venomous but I think that most jellyfish species are. Despite the various amount of venom these guys pretty much eat nothing but jellyfish.

i would high five every single one of them if I could.
Yes. The debate on weather this was a stinging variety was settled pretty quickly.
